Nims, sax, flute, percussion
Adrienne
Nims was born in Boulder, Colorado and grew up in New England.
She started pounding out songs on the piano and singing at the
top of her lungs right away! She started playing flute when
she was nine and quickly became hell-bent on getting a saxophone
after hearing her grandfather blow his horn. She started playing
in swing and jazz bands, a good 20-40 years younger than the
regulars, and continued studying music with the flute dept.
head at U. Mass, Amherst, and sax Professor of U. Michigan.
Adrienne also performed in New England Conservatory ensembles
and continued studies at Ithaca College. She lived and performed
there and throughout the northeast for several years and in
1995 shifted her home and music to the West Coast. Living in
Encinitas, Ca.,
Denver
Clay, keyboard, vocals
Denver
Clay, from Encinitas, California, brings to Thunder Rose over
25 years of experience as a keyboard and vocalist specializing
in country sounds. Denver has toured three continents sharing
his unique interpretation of classic country rock music with
a variety of audiences. He has opened for Hank Williams, Jr.,
Jerry Lee Lewis, The Bellamy Brothers and many others. Denver
contributed his versatile sound to the Warner Brothers recording
group "California". He has also composed hunfreds of musical
soundscapes for video clients in advertising, education, and
multimedia production. He owns and operates Sound Strategies,
a production and recording facility in Encinitas.
Bob
Rosencrans, bass, vocals
Bob
Rosencrans, a native of Los Angeles, California, earned a music
degree from Pierce College in Los Angeles, and contributes bass
guitar & vocals to Thunder Rose. His versatile talent-from rock
to country-has been heard throughout Southern California in
clubs like The Troubadour, The Roxy, The Whiskey A-Go-Go, The
Palamino and the Crazy Horse Saloon. An Active studio musician
and song writer, Bob has been involved in many local music projects
including a compilation CD for charity called "The Care." Bob
has opened for Jefferson Starship, New Riders of the Purple
Sage, the band Spirit, and performed with Brancomb Richmond,
Co-star of the TV show, Renegade.
Rufus
Perry,
guitar, vocals
San
Diego boy, Steve "Rufus" Perry returns home after
many years of developing his musical career in places such as
San Francisco, Los Angeles and even New Mexico. The last 6 years
in San Diego have blossomed into full-time working status. Fueled
by a variety of bands and styles, ie Blues-"Rufus Rex",
Classic Rock-"Big City Shaman", Rockabully-"Blue
Suede
Buick", Rufus's longest and most productive tenure has
been as the veteran guitarist/vocalist for Celia's Thuner Rose
and Bobcat Blue and the Howlin' Coyotes band.
Greg
Merrill, Bass
Greg Merrill
graduated from Naval School of Music, Norfolk, Va 1989, Associates
of Arts Degree, San Diego Mesa College 1996, Electric Bass
and Tuba Instrumentalist for US Navy Music Program 1989-1995.
Toured extensively with US Navy Show Band 1992-1995
Performed
with the following local bands of San Diego: Nova, Noeva Conqusta,
Jalapeno Dance Band, San Diego Jazz Orchestra, Celia and Thunder
Rose, Callosa, Flat Out Liars, Yavaz and The Church at Carmel
Mountain. 1992- present.
Jazz Improvisation
Instructor, Navy Band San Diego, 1993-1995, Music Instructor,
American Music Exchange, San Diego, Ca 1995-1997, Currently
teaching bass, guitar and piano privately.
Mark
Windrum, bass and vocals
Mark Windrum
has played & recorded music with local bands around San
Diego for 25 plus years including Prarie Fire, Celia &
Thunder Rose, Mulligan Stew, and Jaingo.
He plays upright and acoustic bass in various styles from
jazz to country and sings back-up vocals.
Colin
Hiatt, drummer, percussion
Collin
has been playing professionally since his teen years. He has
performed and recorded in a wide variety of genres including
fife and drum corps, metal, ska, rockabilly and jazz. Collin
brings the benefits of his extensive background to each performance
and provides a solid foundation for Celia and Thunder Rose.
Jeff
Bishop, guitar, vocals
As a performer,
Jeff has worked in many venues playing various styles, from
melodic rock in the recording studio to a jazz stroll act
at Sea World; from playing modern country to traditional Irish
bands. His experience, work ethic and reading ability make
him an asset as a side man to many San Diego artists, performing
from La Jolla churches to Las Vegas casinos. His main focus,
however, is playing complete arrangements of songs on acoustic
electric guitar. His fingerstyle approach provides both melody
and accompaniment using only one instrument.

Lawley, fiddle, mandolin, vocals
The
native San Diegan has been performing since the age of 5 and
holds a violin performance degree from the USC school of music."
